Kay LaGrange is the director of the ICC Greenwood Choir. She earned her bachelor’s degree in music education at Birmingham-Southern College and a master’s in education through Indiana University. Her music certification courses were taken through Butler University. Mrs. LaGrange has been with the Greenwood school system for 32 years. For 20 years, she was the middle school general music teacher and 6th grade choral teacher. She is now teaching general music and choir at Isom Elementary.
Through a grant provided by The Johnson County Foundation, Mrs. LaGrange has started two musical drama clubs at Isom, involving approximately 60 children in grades 2-5. Over the past two years, these clubs have rehearsed during the winter months. Mrs. LaGrange is very excited that the grant has been awarded again for this February.
Mrs. LaGrange directs the “A Joyful Noise” hand bell choir at St. John’s UCC in Southport. She is also a member of AGEHR and ISTA.
Mrs. LaGrange is originally from Kettering, Ohio. She and her husband, Bob, have been ICC parents for the past nine years. Their daughter, Amy, graduated from IYC in 2006.
