Josh Pedde

Joshua N. Pedde is an assistant director for the Indianapolis Children’s Choir. Mr. Pedde is beginning his sixth year with the ICC and has conducted various choirs at numerous events, including the children’s opera, The Trio of Minuet. In 2003 Mr. Pedde traveled to Ireland with ICC, where he premiered the work “The Wraggle Taggle Gypsies,” by Irish composer, Mary McAuliffe and in 2006 traveled to England where the ICC performed at Canterbury Cathedral and Westminster Cathedral.

Mr. Pedde received a Bachelor of Music degree in vocal music education and a master’s degree in choral conducting from Butler University. In the past year Mr. Pedde began working as a conductor and clinician throughout Indiana and the Midwest, at the WELS National Worship Convention, Circle the State with Song, and the American Hymn Society. He also serves as a solo and ensemble and organizational judge for the Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) and clinician for Indiana Music Educators Association’s ensembles. He has aided children’s choirs in preparation of major works, including the Philip Glass Symphony No. 5, Saint Nicolas, Carmina Burana, and the Nutcracker. He has been honored to conduct choirs for the FINA World Swimming Championships, Indianapolis Fever pre-game, NCAA Women’s Basketball Finals and the RCA Tennis Championships. In 2001 Mr. Pedde founded the Kokomo Youth Chorale, a non-profit musical organization for singers with changed voices from grades 6-12. Under his direction the Kokomo Youth Chorale was the guest of many organizations, featured on CD’s, radio, and television in Kokomo, Indiana, hosted several noted national clinicians, and sang for several major events.

Mr. Pedde is currently an elementary teacher at Stonegate Elementary School in Zionsville. He also serves as minister of music at Peace Lutheran Church in Kokomo, Indiana, where he is organist and head choral director. Mr. Pedde is a member of the IMEA, MENC, ICDA, ACDA, the Association of Lutheran Church Musicians, and the American Guild of Organists.
