In this season kick-off, a newly commissioned work by Neal Harnly, a composer with Soli Deo Gloria, Inc. in Chicago, will be presented.  Based on the libretto by poet Alisa Bair, The Lost Son summarizes the biblical story of the Prodigal Son and will include a chamber orchestra.  Soli Deo Gloria is led by John Nelson, (former conductor of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra), and was founded to promote and preserve sacred music.  (www.sdgmusic.org)  Mr. Nelson will be in attendance for this world premiere.    In addition to the Prodigal Son, other pieces will be performed by Cantantes Angeli, (directed by Founder & Artistic Director Henry Leck) and ICC’s high school choir, the Indianapolis Youth Chorale, (directed by Cheryl West.)

This annual holiday celebration features holiday and seasonal favorites from a variety of celebrations.  Enjoy traditional Christmas tunes as well as songs from a variety of cultures, all accompanied by a live brass quintet and the superb organ playing of ICC accompanist, Martin Ellis.

The younger voices of the Indianapolis Children’s Choir come together for an afternoon of holiday spirit!  This concert includes the two newest choirs as well as the nine regional choirs of the ICC.  These young, angelic voices will sing traditional favorites and new songs from a variety of celebrations.  Featuring a live brass quintet and the superb organ playing of ICC accompanist, Martin Ellis.

Sunday, Mar. 6, 2011   3pm and 7pm
This annual downtown concert of the Indianapolis Children’s Choir will celebrate the most uniquely American of all music genres, jazz.  Among the choirs that rehearse on the campus of Butler University, the regional choirs will also perform at the 3pm concert, and the Indianapolis Youth Chorale, an ICC choir comprised of high school students, will perform at the 7pm concert.

This concert will be a monumental celebration of 25 years of the Indianapolis Children’s Choir.    For the first time, all choirs in the ICC organization will be on one stage together.  Choirs from ICC’s Preparatory program through the Indianapolis Youth Chorale, and all the choirs in between will create a powerful and moving homage to children’s choral music.

An afternoon of song will be offered by ICC’s younger choirs.  You’ll be amazed at the level of difficulty and artistry that these beginning and intermediate singers possess, while enjoying their sweet, fresh sound.   All of the regional choirs as well as an advanced choir will be included in this performance.

Children’s choirs from around the world, along with several ensembles from the Indianapolis Children’s Choir, converge on the Clowes stage.  The choirs will come to Indianapolis for 5 days to study under ICC Founder and Artistic Director Henry Leck and will present a public concert to showcase the week’s work.

Campers from all parts of central Indiana participate in ICC’s week-long day camp, studying under some of the best choral directors in the world.  This concert is a culmination of all the music they learned in just five days!  Several of ICC’s established choirs will perform in the annual concert that will pulsate with children’s voices!

All advance tickets are sold through ICC – not at the venue.
Ages 5 and under are free

Season tickets on sale Sept. 1
Select tickets to 3 or more concerts to receive the season ticket price of $10 per ticket.

Single tickets:  $12 in advance; $13 at the door 90 minutes before curtain
(Lost Son:  $15 adults; $10 students with ID)
