Hello! Welcome to the 2010-2011 ICC Avon Regional Choir.  Congratulations singers!  We are excited that you will be joining us for Wednesday night rehearsals.  Our choir will include singers from Avon, Brownsburg, Martinsville, Mooresville, Plainfield and Indianapolis.  All in the area are welcome!  The Regional Choirs have several performances and events lined up for the new season. Check below for start-up information and important dates to remember.

GETTING STARTED

2.  First Rehearsal :  Wednesday October 6^th
3.  Regional Choir Retreat– TBA – Butler University
4.  What to bring to regular rehearsals:  personal folder, 2 pencils, ICC satchel & water bottle.
5.  Where do I get an ICC satchel?   It will be given to you at the second or third rehearsal.
6.  What to wear to rehearsals:  schools clothes and a smile.
7.  Financial assistance with tuition & uniform: need based financial assistance is available call for more information:   940-9640

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS:

1.  Parent Information meetings – Keep an eye out for dates and places for the annual Regional Choir Parent Informational meeting.  This important meeting will give you detailed information about schedules, calendars, used and new uniforms, financial assistance, communication and ICC policies.

2.  Performance Details –   detail sheets available on line when the ICC office has information in hand.

3. Regional Choir Retreat– Usually  held in November – Butler University – all Regional singers are expected to attend this very important and fun filled event.  What is a choir retreat? Choir retreat is an educational day of rehearsal,  social activities, music education and movement classes.  Retreat rehearsals and activities are designed to prepare the singer for up coming performances, further develop their music reading skills and help them to get to know one another and the many conductors they will be working with as a member of a professional children’s choir.

4.  Performances:  Performances are considered “mandatory” unless specifically marked “select” or “voluntary”  However, if you  have a school music performance conflict, you are expected to go to your school performance.  If you already know of a conflict, fill out a pre-arranged absence form (available online in the Handbook)  and present it to your ICC choir director at the first rehearsal - see dates above.
